Photo studio passport print checklist

Use this checklist before printing and cutting passport photographs. Physical photo sizes differ among application types and countries.

Before export

  1. Confirm the issuing agency's current photo size and acceptance rules for the exact application.
  2. Start with a high-resolution original photo that meets its lighting, background, and face-position requirements.
  3. Select the relevant preset in Passport Photo Maker and inspect the live sheet preview. Do not assume a studio preset is government-approved.
  4. Check that the sheet contains the expected number of copies.

Printer setup

  1. Use 4 × 6 inch stock (101.6 × 152.4 mm). “10 × 15 cm” is often a retail label and may not match the exact physical size.
  2. Print at 100% or Actual size, without Fit to page.
  3. Disable automatic enlargement and borderless scaling. If the printer cannot print edge to edge, some layouts need equipment able to handle that limitation.
  4. Check orientation and color settings; avoid printer auto-crop.

Quality check and cutting

  1. Print one test sheet, then measure the width and height of a single print with a ruler.
  2. Inspect image sharpness; an exported file at 300 PPI cannot recover detail missing from the source.
  3. Cut carefully using the outer edges of each photo; cut guides only appear where there is free space.
  4. Verify the finished photos against the issuing agency's instructions.

Important: PhotoPrintTools is not a government photo approval or biometric validation service. Some passport services require an approved photographer or a digital submission.
