Country photo sizes and official guidance
Select the exact application type before preparing a photo. The presets are for selected printed passport or consular photo formats. Sizes and eligible submission methods differ, and some countries require an approved photographer or digital submission.

How to use this free passport photo cropper
- Review the government photo requirements for the exact passport or ID application you are submitting.
- Start with a recent, properly lit photo that meets the original-photo and background rules. Avoid filters and artificial alterations.
- Select the printed photo size, then upload the image. The tool automatically fills a standard 4×6 inch sheet with photos at the selected size.
- Adjust framing by dragging or zooming. Export either a single JPEG or a print sheet with multiple copies. Print at actual size, not “fit to page”.
Important limitations
This is a basic crop-and-size utility, not a government-approved biometric checker. It does not measure your head, detect facial features, remove backgrounds, verify clothing or judge application eligibility. A 300 PPI export describes output dimensions; enlarging a low-resolution picture cannot add missing detail. Colors and exact print dimensions may vary with printer settings. Multi-copy print sheets are designed for convenience and studio cutting, but you should still verify that the requested physical photo size matches your application.
Canada: the official Canadian passport instructions require photos taken in person by a commercial photographer and professionally printed. A home-generated crop may not satisfy those requirements. For U.S. applications, original unedited photos and other rules apply. Always follow the linked official agency guidance.
4×6 sheet note: The international 4×6 inch paper is 101.6 × 152.4 mm, slightly larger than 100 × 150 mm. Four U.S. 2×2-inch photos fit exactly across two columns with no side margin. Paper sold as exactly 100 × 150 mm cannot fit four full-size U.S. passport photos.
